3 on 3 Soccer Tournament

Kicking for Cancer is hosting a 3-on-3 soccer tournament on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at Viewmont High School in Bountiful. The tournament is open to the public and all proceeds will go towards treatment for a Davis County man, Clint Layton,  whose family has been engrained in the community for years and is undergoing cancer treatments.

 

The Layton family has been a part of the Davis County residents for years through teaching and helping to mold the young minds that attended Viewmont High School.  Casey Layton, Clint's older brother is the vice principal at Viewmont, while his mother, Kathy was an AP American History teacher and counselor to students for many years.  Last March, the Laytons received the devastating news that their son and brother, Clint was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lukemia. After hearing about the mounting medical bills and the impending treatments Clint will need in the future, friends and community leaders have stepped up to do something for this young father and husband and to show appreciation and support for the Layton family who have touched countless lives of those around them over the years.

 

Kicking for Cancer is a fundraising that was put together by friends and supporters to raise funds for Clint, who is a Viewmont High School alumni and played on the soccer team that took state in 1995. There couldn’t be a better way to honor him than a 3-on-3 tournament followed by a Viewmont High School Alumni game.  The 3-on-3 tournament is open to the public. The charge is $40 per team of 3 or 4 players.  You must be 15 and up to play.   Also a $5 minimum donation for spectators.
